Lauda Musicam’s Baroque Orchestra performs a concert of chamber music from the 17th and 18th centuries. Prior to the standardization of the orchestra in the 19th century, instrumentation often varied widely from one work to another, while some composers clearly favored some instruments over others. String, wind, and keyboard players from Lauda’s orchestra will offer a taste of this seemingly endless feast of music for small ensembles. Holy Trinity Parish, 515 E. Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030. The concert is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. Proceeds from this concert will go toward the Lauda Musicam Instrument Fund to help purchase new instruments for the Baroque Orchestra.
